The anti-Bridezilla: Girl Power!
Posted by sanityinjection on June 1, 2009
How often are we told by our media and popular culture that a woman’s wedding day is supposed to be the best day of her life? The one day when life, the universe, and everything totally revolves around her.
We also see what happens when a bride’s ego gets out of control on reality shows such as “Bridezillas”, in which the bride manages to offend and annoy virtually everyone involved in making her special day a reality.
I offer the antidote in the person of one Georgette Clemons, a brand new bride from Connecticut. No one would have blamed Clemons for being totally wrapped up in her own life-changing event on the day of her wedding. Instead, she made it a life-changing event for someone else:
“A Connecticut family has been saved from a house fire by a new bride who rushed inside through thick smoke while wearing her. Officials say Georgette Clemons had just left her Sunday evening when she spotted smoke coming from a Bridgeport home. got out of the car she was riding in and ran into the home. She says a woman was yelling about her animals and didn’t want to leave, so she had to pull her out.”
And the ultimate anti-Bridezilla ending?
“Clemons says she messed up her shoes, but says that’s no big deal because everyone is safe.”
You go, girl.
