Scientists close to real cloak of invisibility

Remember the cloak of invisibility from the Harry Potter movies? Well, scientists have been working on developing something similar that works by bending light waves around an object, making it invisible. The key lies in creating a material that can bend a broad spectrum of frequencies including visible light. So far they’ve been able to make it work with microwaves:

It’s about time this research showed some progress. After all, we’ve been paying these guys a lot of money, and up until now all they had to show for it was a sword, a Holocaust cloak and a wheelbarrow. And they didn’t even list the wheelbarrow among our assets, claiming they didn’t think it was important.
